The Yamato Scientific Award selection committee has begun accepting applications for the 2014 Yamato Scientific Award, which was established last year. This award aims to honour researchers in areas including Life Sciences, Materials Sciences and Information Sciences, who have demonstrated originality and creativity in their respective field and to support the work of future leaders in science and technology. The selection committee accepts applicants who have contributed in the development of science and technology in a university, research institute or company in Japan. 
The application period will close at the end of October.
