The Yamato Scientific Award Selection Committee has selected the winner of the 4th Yamato Scientific Award. This award was established to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the founding of Yamato Scientific and is awarded to researchers in fields including Life Sciences, Materials Sciences and Information Sciences. The award aims to honour researchers who have demonstrated originality and creativity in their respective field and to support the work of future leaders in science and technology.

The Award Selection Committee reviewed the work of a large number of applicants prior to selecting this year's award recipient. We are pleased to announce that Momoko Horikoshi (M.D., Ph.D) from RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences has been selected as the winner of this year's Yamato Scientific Award for her outstanding achievements and discoveries in her research on the development and progression of Diabetic nephropathy as well as Life-style related diseases, such as Diabetes mellitus.

A lecture accompanied by an award ceremony will take place on Tuesday April 18 at Yamato Scientific Co., Ltd. Headquarters.
